The FIRST building season is an intense 6-week period at the beginning of each year, starting this year on January 5th. The season starts with a big kickoff event, where a live webcast welcomes new teams and welcomes back old teams, and introduces the game. After the game has been described, teams can access the manual for the year, which describes the game in more detail, as well as describing all of the rules and regulations that need to be followed. At this point, teams can pick up their kit of parts (the kit contains most of the parts needed to build the robot, as well as many required parts, like the motors) and start their design and building!

At the end of the 6 week build session, February 20th, every robot across the nation is picked up by FedEx and delivered to their respective regional finals. This year, the Robettes will be attending the regional final in St. Louis February 28 - March 3. After regionals, teams that do exceedingly well will be invited to the national Championship Competition in Atlanta in April.
